This week’s quote challenges you to look a little deeper inside yourself. Often, we look at and for others to guide us through life’s journey. But, this week look to follow the leader in you. Eyes inward, you will realize you have much more to offer to your own journey than you think.
Distractions come in many forms. Sometimes we tend to look at what other people are doing and compare it to where we are. Other times we put people on pedestals, when they disappoint us, we lose our way. Sometimes life gets twisted and we get occupied trying to figure out what happened. Putting things in order is not always as easy as we would like it to be, but with time and space, it can happen.
To gain perspective means getting clarity. I like to use meditation. You may have a way that works for you. During your moment of figuring things out, make a priority list. Next, think about your strengths. Knowing where you are strong, use it to build your confidence. Create an affirmation that you believe about yourself, then say it until it sticks.
Be Grateful Every day
Every day may not be joyful, yet there is something to be grateful for. Being grateful allows you to take your mind off the negative and direct it to something positive. Breathing is a good place to start. The fact that you are breathing means you have another chance to try again. The fact that you have food means you will not be hungry.
Think of gratefulness as the open door to more joy, more love, or more opportunities. Challenge yourself each day to be grateful for more than one thing. You will find that you can take lead by following the wisdom in you. You just need to trust it.
I get it sometimes being you doesn’t seem like it’s enough. The truth is, it is the best thing you can be. In any situation and with anyone, you are unique and enough. Life can be overwhelming at times in the hustle and bustle where it seems like everyone is trying to do everything and be something to everyone, you may be tempted to try and figure out where you fit in. Here is where I tell you, you don’t. The better place to focus your energy is to what is truly you. It may not be accepted in every circle or by everyone, but it is what will keep you sane.
We all have good and bad days. And with that, we must still be true to ourselves. You may not always have the answers to the hard questions in life and that’s okay. I found something to be true considering it all, time reveals all. Keep your heart true, eyes open, and be receptive to wisdom, soon the answers will come. In the meantime, keep being YOU.
I hope you gained some insight to just how awesome you are. This week’s quote is an invitation to engage with yourself in a positive way, not a call to isolate or separate from support systems. Just a call to realize there is a leader in you!
